# general

> Every player on Love Story Roleplay must follow these general rules covering age requirements, AFK limits, offensive content, and cross-platform conduct.

Welcome to Love Story Roleplay. Before you jump in-world, take a moment to read through the general rules that govern how every player is expected to behave — both in-game and across all connected platforms. These rules exist to keep the community safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.

  These general rules work alongside the roleplay-specific rules found elsewhere in this documentation. Both sets of rules are enforced equally, and ignorance of either is not an accepted excuse for violations.

## Server Rules

  <Accordion title="1. You must be 18 or older to play">
    Love Story Roleplay is an adult community. All players must be at least **18 years of age** to create an account and participate on the server. If staff have reason to believe a player is underage, they may request verification. Players who cannot verify their age will be removed from the community.

  <Accordion title="2. No stream sniping or targeted harassment">
    Stream sniping — joining the server with the intent of tracking down a content creator or a specific player using outside information — is strictly forbidden. Similarly, targeting the same player repeatedly to ruin their experience, grief them, or harass them in any form is not tolerated. Everyone deserves a fair and enjoyable session.

  <Accordion title="3. AFK players are kicked after 15 minutes">
    To keep server slots available for active players, the server will automatically kick any player who has been away from keyboard (AFK) for **15 minutes or more**. If you need to step away, please log out properly so another player can use your spot.

  <Accordion title="4. No offensive character names or appearances">
    Your character's name and physical appearance must not reference, mock, or depict anything that is hateful, offensive, or discriminatory — including but not limited to racial slurs, sexual content in names, real-world extremist figures, or deliberately dehumanising portrayals. Staff make the final call on what crosses the line.

  <Accordion title="5. No advertising other servers or communities">
    Promoting, advertising, or recruiting for any other FiveM server, Discord community, or online platform in **any** Love Story channel — in-game chat, Discord, or the forums — is prohibited. This includes sending direct messages to members for recruitment purposes.

  <Accordion title="6. English is the primary language in OOC channels">
    Out-of-character (OOC) channels, including global OOC chat and Discord support channels, are English-only. This allows staff and other players to understand and moderate conversations effectively. You are welcome to speak other languages between consenting players in private in-character settings.

  <Accordion title="7. Respect all players regardless of their in-game role">
    Whether someone plays a street criminal, a police officer, a business owner, or a civilian, every player behind the screen deserves basic respect. Belittling, insulting, or discriminating against another player — for any reason — is unacceptable. Disagreements about roleplay should be handled maturely and, if needed, escalated to staff.

  <Accordion title="8. Server rules apply across all platforms">
    The rules of Love Story Roleplay do not stop at the game client. They apply equally across **all** associated platforms: in-game, our Discord server, the community forums, and any official Love Story social media channels. Behaviour on any of these platforms can and will be taken into account during moderation decisions.

## Enforcement

Violations of the general rules are handled on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the severity and frequency of the offence, consequences range from a verbal or written warning all the way up to a permanent ban. Repeat offenders will face escalating penalties with less room for appeal.

  Staff decisions are final in all moderation matters. If you disagree with an outcome, you may submit a formal appeal through the designated support channel in Discord — do not argue with staff in public channels or in-game.
