# Civilian and Gang Interaction Rules for Love Story RP

> How gang members and civilians must interact on Love Story RP: provocation, robberies, gang colors, family residences, and PD engagement in gang scenes.

Gang life on Love Story RP only works when every member respects the line between active combat and everyday civilians. This page lays out exactly how gang members and civilians are expected to interact, from a passing look on the block to a full gang-on-gang scene with PD rolling up.

## 21. Civilian and Gang Interactions

As a gang member, you are expected to refrain from harming innocent civilians at all times. The only exceptions are direct interference during active gang combat or clear, in-character provocation from the civilian themselves. Your default posture toward non-combatants is calm and non-aggressive, and you should never be the one to instigate a negative encounter with a civilian who is minding their business.

Fatal negative scenes with a civilian, such as shooting or robbing, are only permitted when that civilian has genuinely provoked you first. Provocation means they escalated toward you without cause, not that you baited them into a reaction and then used their words as justification to kill them. Lower-level fights that do not escalate to a death within the same scene are fine, but civilians are also expected to avoid provoking gang members without a valid in-character reason.

Gang conduct on Love Story RP is strictly regulated. Every member is expected to know and follow the Faction Rulebook for all interactions with rival gangs, including combat, diplomacy, and territory. Read the rulebook fully before engaging with another gang so that you remain in compliance with server standards.

  Civilians may not rob gang members, and gang members are required to be in identifiable gang attire at all times. If a member is not visibly repping, they cannot claim gang status in that scene.

## Family Residences Are Neutral Ground

All family residences on Love Story RP are strictly off-limits and are treated as neutral ground for gang purposes. Under no circumstances may a member engage in "spinning," drive-bys, or shooting at a family residence. The home is a safe zone, fully protected from street conflict and any form of retaliation.

## Setting Up a Robbery

Robbery scenes on Love Story RP must feel earned, not opportunistic. As a civilian or a gang member, you are required to have a **2-minute clip of you setting up the robbery** before it takes place. That setup should show clear intent: lingering around the target, following them down, running them, or otherwise establishing the scene. If a robbery happens without that footage on hand, it will be treated as an invalid scene.

On top of the setup requirement, remember the interaction rules:

* **Civilians cannot rob gang members.**
* **Gang members cannot rob civilians** unless that civilian is lingering on the gang's territory or block, or has already interacted with the gang member in a way that opens the door to a scene.

## Gang Colors and Impersonation

Colors carry weight on Love Story RP, but they are not a free pass to escalate. If you see someone wearing your gang's colors, it is completely fine to approach them and inform them of what they are wearing. It does not, on its own, give you grounds to press further. You are only cleared to escalate if:

* The person **escalates** the interaction themselves, or
* The person is clearly **impersonating your gang** (claiming membership, flagging in your territory, or otherwise passing themselves off as part of the set).

Otherwise, the interaction ends with the conversation.

## When PD Arrives

Every gang-on-gang scene changes the moment police roll up. Your first move as a gang member when PD arrives on scene is to leave. You must respect and fear PD like any real street organization would, and you should never treat their arrival as an invitation to keep the scene going.

The one exception is an **active, ongoing shootout**. If bullets are already flying and disengaging safely is not possible, the scene plays out as it is. Any other situation, including foot pursuits, standoffs, or scenes that have paused for even a moment, must be broken off the moment PD is on the scene.

  **YOU MUST FEAR PD UNLESS IT IS AN ONGOING SHOOT OUT.** Standing your ground on a gang scene just because you outnumber the officers, or refusing to flee once sirens hit, will be treated as failure to fear police and disciplined accordingly.
